TIG Wire for Corrosion-Resistant Applications

Weld Star ER 385 TIG wire is a super austenitic stainless steel filler metal formulated for welding applications requiring excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The high nickel content combined with copper addition provides outstanding resistance to sulphuric acid and other aggressive environments.

Its fully austenitic microstructure minimizes sensitivity to ferrite and sigma phase precipitation, offering superior durability in challenging conditions such as pitting and crevice corrosion.

This wire is ideal for demanding industries including chemical fertiliser production, phosphoric acid processing, hydrometallurgy, paper manufacturing, and seawater-exposed equipment.
