High-Strength Stainless TIG Wire for Dissimilar and Problematic Steel Welds

Weld Star ER 2209 is a duplex stainless steel TIG wire specially formulated for joining duplex stainless steels and challenging dissimilar or high-strength steels. It features a balanced two-phase microstructure (austenitic-ferritic) that provides outstanding tensile strength and excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and cracking.

Thanks to its high chromium, nickel, and molybdenum content, ER 2209 offers exceptional corrosion resistance across a broad temperature range, from cryogenic levels up to 300°C. Its unique duplex structure makes it ideal for demanding applications in harsh environments such as the oil & gas, chemical, and offshore industries.
