Corrosion-Resistant Applications

Weld Star Alloy C22 is a premium nickel-chromium-molybdenum TIG wire formulated for superior corrosion resistance in highly aggressive environments. It is engineered for the welding of C22, 625, 825, and other corrosion-resistant alloys, as well as for dissimilar welds in super duplex and super austenitic stainless steels.

This alloy is ideally suited for cladding and overlays on lower alloy steels where excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking is required. The absence of niobium (Nb) ensures a clean, tough weld deposit suitable for the harshest service conditions.

Key Features

  • Exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice, and stress corrosion cracking
  • Tough, Nb-free weld metal ideal for dissimilar welding
  • Suitable for chemical processing and offshore applications
  • Excellent choice for corrosion-resistant overlays and cladding
  • Supplied in 1000 mm cut lengths, 5 kg packs

Typical Applications

  • Welds in highly corrosive chemical processing environments
  • Overlay cladding on carbon and low-alloy steels
  • Severe service offshore and petrochemical applications
  • Dissimilar metal welding with super austenitic and duplex stainless steels
