Cast Iron

Cast iron electrodes provide a specialised MMA welding consumable solution for repairing, rebuilding and joining cast iron components where strength, crack resistance and machinability are critical. Designed for professional workshop and site use, these electrodes are formulated to accommodate the unique properties of cast iron, including high carbon content and brittleness, helping reduce cracking and distortion during welding. Commonly supplied in nickel rich and nickel iron formulations such as NiFe and Ultima type alloys, cast iron electrodes are widely used for repairing engine blocks, gearbox housings, pump casings, machine bases, agricultural equipment and general cast iron components. They offer excellent arc stability, controlled deposition and strong bonding to a wide range of cast iron grades, including grey, malleable and nodular iron.

Supplied in commonly used electrode diameters and pack sizes, cast iron electrodes are selected for consistent quality, reliable arc performance and dependable weld integrity. Suitable for professional trade and industrial maintenance environments, they provide a practical consumable solution for achieving crack resistant welds, good machinability and durable repairs across light  to heavy duty cast iron welding and repair applications.
