MetalMate self locking nuts manufactured to Din 980V are all metal, prevailing torque lock nuts designed for use in high vibration and dynamic load applications. The locking action is created by a deformed or elliptical thread section at the top of the nut, which grips the mating bolt without the need for a nylon insert. Manufactured from high tensile steel to Class 8 strength, these nuts provide reliable locking performance, reusability, and suitability for elevated temperature applications. The zinc plated finish offers basic corrosion resistance for general purpose use.
